Lucy has become a member of the Scientific Committee of the Institut pour la Ville en Mouvement PSA Peugeot Citroen, Paris.
The Institut - Institute for City on the Move - (IVM) is an organization created by the group PSA Peugeot Citroen in 2000, as part of its sponsorship policy. This international think tank on innovation related to urban mobility organizes multidisciplinary scientific meetings, and implements experimental projects related to issues of disability, social inclusion, of access to the city for teenagers, urban organization, architecture and new information technologies. It mobilizes experts in Asia, Latin America and Europe, disseminates knowledge and raises awareness of the challenges posed by mobility in contemporary societies. The Institute has presented exhibitions on architecture and planning to raise awareness on urban issues, for example, La rue est à nous..tous! (the road belongs to all of us!) which has toured to 15 global cities and Villes Rêvées Villes Durables? (dream cities, sustainable cities?).
Scientific advice and guidance is given by individuals from different backgrounds: business, public transport, research, culture, politicians, and media. The Institute promotes the notion of mobility rights law as part of the right to work, housing, education, leisure, family, health. The Scientific Committee is Chaired by Marcel Smets, the architect, urban planner and professor at the University of Louvain. The Institute regularly organizes interdisciplinary seminars covering mobility issues in social transformation. An international chair was created in partnership with the Graduate School 'City and Environment' held by Jean-Pierre Orfeuil, Professor at the Urban Institute of Paris.
The Institute has offices in China (Shanghai) and in Latin America (Buenos Aires), the former in partnership with Tongji University in Shanghai and annually hosts researchers and organizes conferences on various aspects of urban mobility and innovation needs. Both act as resource centres on mobility in these emerging regions, but also as centre of action in which experiments and projects adapted to local problems are also conducted. Each has its own university chair together with some of the best specialists in various discpilines - economists, sociologists, engineers, transport experts, for example.
