› changing space
We are inviting twelve groups of practitioners - artists, architects, new media designers, musicians, philosophers, scientists and writers to each create a multidisciplinary installation exploring contemporary issues of environment, nature, regeneration, cultural infrastructure and technological innovation. It represents an update and rethinking of the original ground-breaking This is Tomorrow exhibition staged at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1956. In this project, twelve groups of artists, architects and other creative practitioners who were members of the Independent Group presented their vision of Tomorrow through a set of installations housed in pavilion structures. This is Tomorrow 2, which will similarly adopt the spatial format of a series of pavilions, is curated by Lucy Bullivant, Jeremy Hunt, Editor of Art & Architecture magazine and Michael Da Costa, founding director of Architects of Communication.
